Hundreds
of residents and indigenes of Erin Oke community in Oriade Local
Government Area of Osun State, on Monday, embarked on a protest over
incessant auto accidents which have claimed lives on Ilesa-Akure
expressway.
The protest was said to have halted traffic along the expressway for hours as the demonstrators, mostly youths, took over the dual carriageway and occupied it for several hours.
Travelers along the route, most especially those coming from Abuja and some part of the South South and South East were stranded for hours while the protest lasted.
Tribune Online learnt that the latest auto accident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, claimed the lives of three people, including a young boy who was said to be the only child of his parents.
