A medical evacuation plane disappeared west of Senegal during a
flight from Burkina Faso to Dakar, Senegalese civil aviation authority
said in a statement on Sunday.
The aircraft carrying seven people, including a French patient went
down off the coast of Senegal at 7:08 p.m. (1908 GMT) on Saturday, said
the statement.
Senegal’s air force was conducting a search of the wreckage of the plane.
According to officials, the plan was carrying a Senegalese doctor,
two nurses,three crew members, two Algerians and one Congolese, apart
from the patient.
The plane, which had been scheduled to arrive in Dakar at 18:20, belonged to the private Senegalair company.
A technical investigation will be launched for further details, said the Senegalese civil aviation authority.
