Tottenham ‘close in on West Brom’s Saido Berahino’

Tottenham are reportedly confident of wrapping up a deal for West Brom forward Saido Berahino, though Tony Pulis’ side are apparently holding out for £25million.

Berahino has long been a prime target for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, and the north London club are hopeful of finally securing his signature in this transfer window.
However, it is believed that the clubs are some way apart in their valuation for the player, with Tottenham hoping to complete the transfer for around £18m, while West Brom are reluctant to let the England Under-21 star leave for anything less than £25m.

Reports in the British media claim that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is only willing to pay around half that figure up front, with add-ons taking the total deal to around £18m.
Levy is known for his stubbornness when it comes to the transfer window and Tottenham remain interested in Berahino despite the expected arrival of Cameroon striker Clinton Njie from Lyon.
The Spurs supremo believes Berahino is keen to join Tottenham this summer and is hoping that the 22-year-old’s wish to switch clubs will see a quick conclusion to the transfer, providing that the two clubs can come to an agreement on the fee.
