All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has continued to receive support from old and young ones as his campaign team berthed at Ugwlawo in Kogi East senatorial district.
Addressing the Party leaders and delegates at APC Secretariat in Ugwolawo in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bello told the crowd that he ventured into politics to ensure that the state got the needed change.
He explained that since creation of Kogi State in 1991, the state had not got it right in terms of infrastructural development, education, health and serious socio-economic development.
The aspirant noted that as a youth who had excelled in both public and private life, he would want to bring his experiences to bear in governance of state if given the mandate and pointed out that all the key sectors in the state needed a redirection to move the state to the next level, stressing that “the state needs a young and vibrant mind. We the youths are strong believers of Change in Kogi statehoods things are terribly bad that you cannot compare Kogi state capital with any other states in Nigeria. Road networks are nothing to write home about. We believe that the opportunity has come to get it right now by bringing the young generation to governance.”
He pointed out that if given the mandate, he would invest heavily in agriculture to move youths out of street, while the educated ones would be gainfully employed.
Earlier in his address, a Kogi State APC stalwart, Dr. Yakubu Ugwolawo, stated that the issues were not about tribalism, but someone who could do it better and deliver, stressing that the young aspirant meant well for overall development of Kogi State.
Ugwolawo noted that despite the fact that many Igala aspirants were jostling to contest the governorship primaries, he and like minds had decided to give support to Alhaji Bello popularly known as Fair Plus.
