He has no respect for me in anyway, husband tells court

I wonder why he should be evaluating my level of respect —Wife.
A Mapo customary court, Ibadan, Oyo State, has dissolved the 32-year-old marriage between one Gbade Alabi and his wife, Ruth, over Ruth’s alleged extreme disrespect to the husband.
In dissolving the marriage, Mr Ademola Odunade, president of the court, held that every action by Ruth even in court showed that she is arrogant.
Odunade also stated that any man would want to do away with such a wife.
“Although, the court has no interest whatsoever in separating any couple, in this case, both parties want an immediate end to their union.
“If dissolution remains the solution to the perennial problem, the relationship then ceases to be, henceforth.’’
Narrating his ordeal earlier, Alabi alleged that his wife was extremely disrespectful to him and had led one of their children astray.
“For 32 years now, I have had to endure her extreme disrespect to me in all ways.
“Besides contesting my decisions on any matter at home, Ruth, more often than not, instigates our last child not to obey my instructions.
“As a result, the child joined a bad gang and started smoking all sorts of hard drugs like Indian hemp that almost cost him his life.
“After doctors at Jericho Specialist Hospital rescued him with the help of God, he went back to smoking soon after he was discharged, with his mother solidly backing him.
“I did all I could to change them, but they continued, and the boy has started developing heart problem.
“In fact, I no longer consider both of them as part of my family again because they want to give me a heart attack.
“Although, they are already grown up, I want to have custody of the remaining three children,” Alabi explained to the court.
Ruth, who denied the allegations, told the court that Alabi’s action was all in the bid to deny the boy in question proper education.
“Alabi does not want to spend on the boy’s education and that is the reason why he feels that I am pampering him.
“I wonder why he should be evaluating my level of respect; it doesn’t concern him whether I am good or bad.
“If he does not want me anymore, I also reject him, but he must give me all that belongs to me,” Ruth said.
